MoneyRocket is a trusted financial advice firm backed by the expertise of GPS Wealth and the CARE investment committee.
We love getting to know you and your situation and designing strategies and products to make you better off.
Based in Ocean Grove, Victoria, we have clients around the country. Meetings are typically online though I travel to Melbourne and surrounds regularly as well as Brisbane and Sydney.
We will work with your accountant, buyers agent, conveyancer, solicitors and family lawyers to ensure your strategies are aligned and that we are all on the same page. Having this network also ensures I can send you to the right place when needed.
It’s in your interests that that happens. If you are shopping around, do make sure any other adviser is doing the same thing. It adds a lot of value.
I am also a mortgage broker and can integrate that into your strategies. Note that this occurs under a different brand - Nectar Mortgages - and has nothing to do with GPS Wealth Ltd or the Australian Financial Services Licence under which MoneyRocket operates.
A previous life...
I spent the first half of my life as a concert pianist playing anywhere from country towns to international concert halls, from solo concerts to concerts with orchestra.
I lived in Moscow, London and Berlin, won international prizes and had once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Travelling the world performing was a dream and I loved every minute of it.
In Australia I taught at the University of Melbourne where I earned a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree. I still examine for the Australian Music Examinations Board and give concerts with my wife, opera singer and executive coach, Sally Wilson.
Corporate finance…
Eventually I needed a change from music and retrained in finance from the ground up.
As a Manager at Ernst and Young in Valuations and Business Modelling, I worked on valuations of anything from local car dealerships to major infrstructure assets and corporate valuations for top-50 listed companies.
The people I worked with were great - smart, high-achieving, well-adjusted professionals who recognised quality and displayed it in everything they did.
Financial planning…
Four years of 4-hour per day commuting and overcoming “the most brutal exam in finance” to become a CFA Charterholder put me in a dark place - a change was needed which has led me to where I am today.
Now I can bring you the qualities you want in a financial planner - great people skills with serious financial credentials and experience.
