I am the sole Director of MoneyRocket.
I don't have any staff as I prefer to provide personalised service - you will only be speaking with me. However, in time it may be necessary to take on a PA - I will update here if/when that happens (current as at September 2021).
I work from home in Ocean Grove, Victoria and travel regularly to Melbourne to meet clients there. I meet with clients around Australia via Zoom or Teams. Even for those clients who are close geographically, most of our interaction is online.
Whatever you have going on, I will work with your accountant, mortgage broker, conveyancer, family lawyer etc. to make sure we are all on the same page.
My journey to financial planning is unusual - I don't come from inside the system...
A previous life...
I spent the first half of my life as a concert pianist playing anywhere from country towns to concert halls, from solo concerts to concertos with orchestra.
I lived in Moscow, London and Germany, won interntational prizes and had so many great experiences. Travelling the world performing was a dream and I loved every minute of it.
Here in Australia, I taught at the University of Melbourne where I earned a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree. I still examine for the Australian Music Examinations Board and give a few concerts a year with my wife, opera singer Sally Wilson.

Corporate finance...
Eventually I needed a change from music and retrained from the ground up (I have done a lot of study...is there such a thing as too much study?) :-)
As a Manager of a Big 4 consultancy in Valuations and Business Modelling, I worked on valuations of anything from local car dealerships to major infrastructure and corporate valuations for top 50 listed companies.
The people I worked with were great - smart, high-achieving, well-adjusted professionals!
Financial planning...
Four years of commuting from Ocean Grove to Melbourne, long hours and studying for "the most brutal exam in finance" nearly killed me. A change was needed.
Now I can bring the qualities you want in a financial planner - great people skills with above-average financial credentials and experience.
Australian Financial Review article, April 2018.
